Hasan Ali Replaces Naseem Shah in Pakistan World Cup 2023 Squad

Pakistan named its 15-man World Cup squad on Friday, September 22. Pacer Naseem Shah will miss this action-packed game as he injured his right shoulder in the Super Four 2023 Asian Cup match against India. Hasan Ali was appointed in his place. Hasan played in the last ODI in June 2022 and performed well in the Test against the Automatic Community in Karachi earlier this year. Haris Rauf’s return to the group after being sidelined due to injury might be a huge boost for the ODI’s best order.

Chief Electoral Officer Inzamam-ul-Haq communicated despondency over Shah’s appalling assault and shared an upgrade on Rauf’s recuperation: “We had to form an altar as Naseem Shah was in a lot of pain.  We suffered several injuries. It was scary later.” “It’s the Asian Cup, but I’m happy to say all the players are fit and strong, they’ve done well for their country in the most important matches for selection.”

Hasan Ali in the team

Hasan Ali, 29 years old, participated in the One-Day World Cup (ODI) final in June 2022. His last performance for the Pakistan team competed against Hyundai New Zealand in January this year.

“In case you see Hassan Ali’s execution within the LPL or any other competition, you’ll see that he is way better than most competitions. He is sweet in these competitions,” Inzamam told ESPNcricinfo. He included that the medium-fast bowler was shortlisted due to his “group soul and capacity to bring vitality to the team”.
